BROOKFIELD, CT — One more members of the Brookfield School community has tested positive for the coronavirus, Superintendent John Barile wrote in an email to families on Monday. The affected people have been instructed to remain home and isolate for 10 days. According to Brookfield Schools' COVID-19 tracking dashboard, there are two Brookfield High School staff members and one student currently self-isolating, and 21 staff and 115 students in the BHS community under quarantine. All Brookfield schools switched full remote learning last Wednesday, and are scheduled to return to the hybrid attendance model on Dec. 7. Anyone who is considered a "close contact" with the infected people have been contacted by now or will be contacted very soon and provided with instructions on the appropriate steps to take, which includes quarantine for 14 days. "As the health metrics continue to change we will closely monitor the COVID-19 data trends in collaboration with the Brookfield Health Department and our District Medical Advisor," Barile said.
