Getting green wood today will not be usable this winter, get at least partially seasoned. The fire season is already upon us, and far too soon the chainsaws and splitters will no longer be working in many forests, then you will miss your window to get reasonable prices on good wood. This winter madrone hit 600$ a cord, oak 500$. Even fir got as high as 400$ a cord. Don’t pay those or even higher prices next year, now is the time.
