BROOKFIELD, CT — Firefighters responded to a call from one of their own, on Christmas.
A firefighter and dispatcher from Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company witnessed a car crash into a utility pole, and called it in on their way into work. The crash occurred just south of the fork at Old Middle Road, and fire police shut down the road early Wednesday morning while crews from the BVFC, Eversource and a towing company worked on the scene. The area was cleared around 8 a.m.
The driver was evaluated by EMS and was driven to the Emergency Room in a private vehicle, fire officials said.
