We are The Funk Academy, a band that has been playing around the Buffalo area since 2016. We usually average about 1 performance a month. Looking to start playing out more. We had a bit of a hiatus during the Pandemic and two of our players no longer live in the area :-( We are looking to replace our Drummer and Guitar Player. We Play original Retro Futuristic Funk and RnB music. We are a younger band, late 20s early 30s. We aren't ageist, but younger players may feel that they fit in better. We also pride ourselves on having a family friendly image. We are hoping to find a drummer who is into classic RnB, and Funk music, and has some modern Hip-Hop, Pop influence to drop some funky beats lol. We also would like to find a rhythm guitar player who can sing background vocals, we would love to have a female guitarist who can sing background vocals to fit some of our songs but are open to anyone.
