I am looking to rehome my sister's deer tick chihuahua as she does not have the time to devote to him that he needs now that she is in college and works full-time. Ideally, we would like to see him go to a retiree who can give him the attention he deserves. Health: He is about 5 years old now and has no known health issues. He is not up to date on any shots, he was gotten from a shelter so he was given shots at one point but we have not kept him up to date. He is neutered and does not have any health issues. Temperament: He is very loyal and can be vocal with other dogs or people he does not know. He is currently living with 2 other dogs and 4 others cats, my own, and they get along okay. No physical issues but he will bark and would be best as the only dog. He has moved between multiple dog foods and would likely have little issues changing. He appreciates short walks but much prefers to be a lap/couch dog and will follow you around as he wants to be part of your life. Kids: He is anxious around our one-year-old so we would prefer a child-free home, he has never bit our toddler so there is no concern with occasional visits but daily interaction would cause him unneeded stress. What we want: Please send me an email that includes what kind of life Paco would have with you. Are you working or retired? Do you have any cats, dogs, or kids? Do you have a yard? Are you home all day or would he be crated for extended periods as he is now? Please also let me know if you are able to make the drive to us and if not where are you located. Also, let us know if you would like to meet him prior to committing(this is recommended but please be aware that we would take him back if necessary). Cost: We are asking for a $50 rehoming fee which includes a 24” wire crate, dog food, a harness, leash, and a tie-out. We would be willing to waive this for the right person that’s on a fixed income. Ideally, we would like to see him go to a retiree who can give him the attention he deserves.
