The health, economic and social impacts of COVID-19 have had far-reaching negative consequences for all segments of our population, with a disproportionate impact on the most vulnerable. Connecticut, a hot spot early in the pandemic, has shown a remarkable turnaround since April and has emerged as a leader in containing the spread. As devastating as COVID-19 has been, it also has resulted in unexpected positive outcomes due to an abrupt shift to new work and social environments that have forced us to innovate in order to survive and thrive. The CEOs, Lamont and Olian will talk about the critical roles leadership and innovation have played in navigating the COVID-19 pandemic as well as their views on the future. "We are thrilled to have the opportunity to serve as a convenor of innovative thought leaders for robust discussions on the most pressing and immediate issues facing health care," said Janelle Chiasera, dean of the School of Health Sciences. "Innovation, leadership and success around complex issues rarely happens in a vacuum. It will be fascinating to listen to health care, political and education leaders as they discuss the roles teamwork, leadership and innovation play in navigating our current crisis."
