The PHD is working as part of the Mercer County health Officers Association to obtain and distribute the vaccines locally, Mayor Liz Lampert said in her message to the community.
Mercer County is expected to receive the vaccines the week of Dec. 28.
Local health department clinics will distribute the vaccine starting with prioritized groups, said Lampert. In Phase 1A, local clinics will focus on vaccinating EMS and health care workers. The next priority group (1B) will be seniors, aged 75 and older and frontline essential workers including first responders, teachers, public transit employees, and grocery store staff.
Phase 1C includes seniors aged 65 to 74 years old, people aged 16 to 64 with underlying health conditions, along with other essential workers.
