In the African American (Black) community, churches are traditionally at the social and moral cores. As such, they are regarded as “Trusted Voices” in guiding everyday life.
During the COVID-19 Pandemic, and because of mass shut-downs and mandated social distancing, opportunities for trusted voices to be heard were challenging and severely limited. This reduced the ability of the community to attend church and fellowship, receive social, life, and spiritual guidance, and access counseling necessary to deal with isolation, family loss, finances, housing, food, health, and other important issues.
