BRIDGEPORT, CT — Harbor Yard Amphitheater has announced that its opening will be postponed until 2021. Officials said the amphitheater was on track to open in summer 2020, but the outbreak of the coronavirus has impacted progress. Manufacturing has ground to a halt in Milan, Italy where the amphitheater's lighting is being produced. Roof fabrication from France was also delayed. Shipping is taking a hit as well as international construction as personnel will not be traveling to the US due to the virus. "It is with a heavy heart and out of an abundance of caution we are going to postpone the opening of the Amp until Spring 2021," Howard Saffan, Principal of the Harbor Yard Amphitheater, said in a statement. "We hate to disappoint our already loyal fan base. We have been humbled by the outpouring of support for the Amp but this is out of our control. We are looking forward to seeing you all in 2021."
