Rock & Rose Nursery + Landscape Nursery & Garden Center Weekend Manager: Job Description: Rock & Rose a retail nursery and landscape company is seeking an Assistant Manager that is positive, self-motivated, passionate, and knowledgeable about plants, gardening, landscaping, and home projects. Through leadership, the candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations and be responsible for running weekend operations. The ideal candidate will promote a fun, friendly, and energetic work environment by offering on-the-job training while focused on proper plant maintenance and dedicated to providing excellent customer service. It is important to be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail. Responsibilities: •Manage weekend operations and assist nursery manager on weekdays •Supervise staff by clearly communicating direction and providing training •Oversee daily duties and ensure they are completed properly •Assist customers with plant sales provide information and plant suggestions •Help ensure plant health by proper care and placement •Ensure the nursery is fully stocked, and items are priced properly. •Rotate plants to ensure our displays are always fresh while creating new ways to promote and market our product •Receive, unload and organize incoming deliveries •Load customers with bulk material, which will require operating equipment (will train) •Supervise daily plant maintenance, watering, pruning, and fertilization •Property maintenance keep all areas clean, neat, and organized with close attention to detail •Assist in ordering material •Balance cash register and daily sales •Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professional courtesy Qualifications & Skills: •Plant knowledge and experience required •Nursery retail sales experience (2+ years preferable) •Flexibility to work various shifts - Weekends are mandatory •Excellent customer service skills •Strong communication and problem-solving skills •Develop a solid knowledge and understanding of company products and procedures •Heavy equipment experience or willingness to be trained is a plus •Prepared to work outside in various weather environments - hot or cold, rain or shine •Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand on feet for hours at a time •Perform physical work throughout the day this position requires physical demands such as lifting heavy objects, bending, squatting and kneeling Salary: $22 - $24 DOE
