Description
Basics: 34 lb 2 yo female Jack Russell/Cattle dog High energy House trained Cuddly Meet Zoey (Lady Winter with the rescue). She's a smart cuddly girl who loves people and treats. She is higher energy and would be great at agility, as she has some impressive leaps. She likes other dogs with a proper introduction and loves to cuddle and play with my personal dog, but is VERY reactive to other dogs in public. She needs someone who is willing to invest time in positive only training with her to help her through this. She is not a dog who will ever be able to go to dog parks. She is also reactive at fence lines, though with time became friends through the fence with the neighbor dogs. The trainer I have begun working with believes the some of the reactivity may be caused by anxiety, and I am working on getting her medication to help. At home, she can be left loose without a problem as long as you make sure any food or yummy smelling products (she found and ate chap stick) are put away first. While Zoey has had multiple positive interactions with a toddler while being closely supervised, she does occasionally show resource guarding tendencies so would be best suited to a home with older or no children. I have been fostering Zoey for a bit over four months, and love her dearly. She will be an awesome dog for someone who has the time, energy and dedication to work with her. If I had not already had a personal dog, I would have quickly adopted her when she came to me as a foster. If you are interested, the quickest way to speak more is to fill out an application for Lady Winter (just her rescue name, she responds only to Zoey) with God's Dogs (linked below). This really is the best way, as there may be others who have already applied, and approved applicants are prioritized!
