Inviting Our Local Community to Participate in Earth Day Event April 21st! Body & Brain NM has been serving our local community offering a unique system of mind-body exercise to help people feel healthier, happier and more peaceful since 1999. In 2022, In honor of Earth Day, Body & Brain NM is hosting a very special Earth Day Celebration Event with collaboration of AICCNM (The American Indian Chamber of Commerce of New Mexico) for anyone interested in personal health and earth health in our community. We’d like to invite anyone in our local community to this special event. * Date : Thursday, April 21, 5pm–7:30pm * Location: Janet Kahn School of Integrated Arts, 9717 Indian School Rd NE, ABQ * Ticket Price: $15 (group discount available) * Contact : 505-433-7715 (call/text) * Event Flow : This two and half hour event will combine activities that focus on the well-being of the Earth with activities that support our personal well-being. Because a healthy planet starts with us, and our health is connected to the health of the planet. 1. We’ll start with a park cleanup to honor Earth Day with Earth Walk, followed by a fun demonstration of traditional Korean drumming and qigong. 2. After that, we’ll screen the inspiring film Love Heals as a way to get everyone thinking about the power of self-care and how to apply it in their lives. https://lovehealsfilm.com/ 3. Then we’ll practice some exercises from the film that are designed to help create optimal energy circulation, known as Water-Up, Fire-Down, and we’ll practice Vitality (Jangsaeng) Walking as a way to get healthy and connect with the earth. 4. Finally, attendees will have a chance to get an aura (energy) reading using our Auracom technology and have a trained instructor help them interpret the results (we can do this before the event starts.) Group Tickets Available! We hope you’ll join us for this exciting event. The cost is only $15 per person and everyone is welcome to join! It's even better if you purchase group tickets: If you purchase 4 tickets : 1 person Free ($60 for 5 people) If you purchase 8 tickets : 2 person Free ($120 for 10 people) If you purchase 12 tickets : 3 person Free ($180 for 15 people) We would like to ask you to consider helping members of our local community with limited means attend the event by purchasing extra tickets. We appreciate your support for our Earth Day event and we will show special appreciation if you purchase group tickets, by including your company's name in event promotional materials, signage, email newsletters, and social media. In addition, 10% of the proceeds will be donated to one of the Pueblo that AICCNM designates. We did a similar event on March 6 at UNM, to which we invited Marvis Aragon Jr., executive director of AICCNM pictured above. He said "...I especially enjoyed hearing the notion of healing the earth by loving ourselves..." We have been a member of AICCNM (The American Indian Chamber of Commerce of New Mexico) since 2019 because we truly agree and honor the mission of AICCNM. With the support of AICCNM, in 2020, Body & Brain NM did fundraising to gather donations to support Native Americans who were severely impacted by Covid-19. Water Up, Fire Down is an energy principle few people know about, but everyone should. This simple energy cycle is fundamental to our well-being. Since our body’s life energy links the body and mind, having this cycle running the right way keeps both body and mind running in a healthy and happy way. Simply put, water energy runs up the back of the body from the kidneys and down the front until it reaches the heart. Fire energy runs down the front of the body from the heart and up the back until it reaches the kidneys. With this cycle, we have a cool head and a fire in our belly.
