Pop-Up Art Series In Princeton Aims To Help Local Businesses

PRINCETON, NJ — The Arts Council of Princeton (ACP) will be hosting a six-week series of public pop-up art experiences, to help local businesses. Titled Art & About, the series is meant to provide residents with a safe and creative art experience and activate the once-bustling downtown. On Sep. 26, from 12 p.m.- 4 p.m., ACP executive director and ceramic artist Adam Welch will set up his potter's wheel at Hind's Plaza. He will be throwing down new pieces on the wheel and auctioning off work from this collection. Additionally, the Arts Council has hidden five handmade ceramic pieces around town – from mugs, to bowls and sculpture. Those who find it, can keep it. They will also receive a complimentary family membership to the Arts Council. Arts Council artists are also working on transforming the mural space on Village Silver. The six-week art series will see activities like chalk murals, scavenger hunts, plein air painting, poetry and more. The events will be held downtown to support local businesses.
