Winners Announced For Princeton Festival Youth Piano Competition

PRINCETON, NJ — The Princeton Festival Youth Piano Competition, which was held virtually for the first time this year, announced its winners on Monday. Seven winners were chosen from a pool of 21 finalists. Here's the list of winners by category: Elementary (6-9 years old): Jackson He, Chino Hills, CA Intermediate (10-12): Abigail Yanovitsky, Huntingdon Valley, PA Junior (13-15): Munan Cheng, San Jose, CA Senior (16-18): Ming Hei Leung, Hong Kong Open (25 and under): Zitong Wang, Philadelphia, PA Four-Hand (25 and under: Ani Hutchens and Emily Steinbach, Lexington, KY California, Kentucky and Pennsylvania produced two winners each, with the other winner hailing from Hong Kong. "These young musicians displayed exceptional pianism and extraordinary musical maturity," said Gregory Geehern, Acting Artistic Director, in a statement. "It was a challenge for our professional adjudicators to decide among them. The winners are truly the best of the best," he said. The Princeton Festival is popular arts organization in the community, that offers a multi-genre festival of the performing arts, including operas, musical theater, jazz, chamber music, symphonic concerts, vocal recitals, dance world music, and a piano competition among others.
