Ideal for someone who can get into character to give guests a memorable experience (and get the extra tip!). Someone with an interest in history is a plus too! Responsibilities: As a Gold Panning Guide/CDL Driver you will provide an entertaining narrative on the history of gold mining in Juneau. Once you arrive at the gold panning site you will instruct guests on methods of gold panning and assist as they try their luck at panning. You will need to provide your own wardrobe that should be apparel consistent with gold prospectors in the late 1890’s. You are responsible for safe loading, transporting and unloading of guests in a friendly, courteous, professional manner. A class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement, current DOT Physical Card, clean driving record, pre-employment drug testing and enrollment in a random drug testing program required. Duties will include but are not limited to: Compliance with all DOT regulations Accurate completion of pre & post trip vehicle inspections (DVIR) Daily cleaning and minor maintenance of all equipment and facilities keeping them clean, orderly and in good repair Obeying all traffic laws and ensure vehicles have all required safety equipment Maintaining the gold panning site Learning the information necessary to deliver an entertaining and informed narrative during the tour including flora, fauna, gold mining & natural history of the area Creating a positive, professional culture and work environment Understanding and compliance with company safety & operational policies Requirements: A class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement, current DOT Physical Card, clean driving record, pre-employment drug testing and enrollment in a random drug testing program required.
