PRINCETON, NJ — About 6,600 Princeton residents lost power at one point after Tropical Storm Isaias pounded the area. Power is not expected to be restored for days. Princeton Police reported that in the three hours between 11:01 a.m. and 2:01 p.m. there were over 50 trees/limbs down, 22 reports of wires down, and multiple traffic signals out. Road closures as a result of down trees and wires included: Snowden Lane at Herrontown RoadSnowden Lane and Walnut LaneRiverside DriveRussell RoadHerrontown Road near Snowden LaneMultiple wires and trees also caught on fire throughout Princeton including North Harrison Street and Nassau Street near the Princeton Shopping Center. PSE&G is reporting 5,599 residents in Princeton are without power as of 6:30 p.m. Power is expected to restored by Friday at 6:30 a.m. There is a total of 38,105 PSE&G customers in Mercer County without power and 12,283 JCP&L customers in the county without power as of 6:30 p.m. To report an outage to PSE&G: text OUT to 4PSEG (47734), report it online, through Amazon's Alexa, through PSE&G's app or call 1-800-436-PSEG (7734).
