This seminar highlights diagnostic criteria pertaining to major mental health disorders while addressing black mental health. The purpose of this workshop is to provide mental health professionals with a working knowledge and understanding of the diagnostic system. The DSM-5 (DSM-5-TR) represents a fundamental shift in how disorders are conceptualized and diagnosed. This eight-hour continuing education workshop will provide an overview of the DSM-5 (DSM-5-TR) and revisions, including its development process, changes to the organizational structure. This workshop will also discuss issues on the Black Experience related to Black culture, Black family dynamics, and Black socio-economic paradigms, provider burn out prevention and Christian integration. This training seminar is 8 CE units for Counselors, Psychologists, Therapists, Social Workers.
