PRINCETON, NJ – Princeton Public School on Friday announced that it was resuming hybrid learning on Dec. 8. The school district had gone remote for a week after Thanksgiving to mitigate any spread of the COVID-19 virus. Schedules have been adjusted to accommodate in-person hybrid learning on Dec.9 for elementary schools and on Dec. 11 at the middle and high school. Elementary school cleaning staff will deep clean buildings on Wednesday after 1 p.m. In his message to the school community, Superintendent Barry Galasso said the decision was made after discussions with district physicians and health department experts, who unanimously agreed to move forward with resuming hybrid learning. But this could change given the increasing number of COVID-19 cases statewide, said Galasso. "While the numbers for our district remain relatively stable, we are clearly in a state-wide environment where things can change quickly. We will continue to monitor the situation and pivot to all-remote if it becomes necessary to keep our staff and students safe," he said. Galasso thanked staff and parents for being diligent and filling out the daily screeining forms. "It is more crucial than ever that our students and families avoid large gatherings and observe all precautions, including physical distancing, mask wearing, and symptom monitoring," said Galasso. Meanwhile neighboring school districts, like South Brunswick, Lawrenceville and East Windsor have pivoted to remote learning given the spike in coronavirus. Thank you for reading.
