Description
Hi, I’ve got a Vietnamese centipede for rehoming. There’s a rehoming fee of $40 to ensure a serious home. If you are interested but haven’t researched this specific species/have never kept one before please make sure to tell me that if you contact me. I want to make sure that whoever takes him/her is fully aware of what they’re getting into. This is for your safety and that of the ‘pede. These are considered dangerous animals and are not for the faint of heart. I also don’t recommend keeping them in a household with small children, and if you have other pets, you need a secure area to keep the centipede in. If you decide to reach out, text or call would be best but email is fine too. I can provide more photos of the centipede and the enclosure upon request.
Information on the centipede themself:
He/she is several inches long and currently eating large crickets, but any good-sized feeder insects would work. I have them in a top-locking bin that’s taller than their full length with some substrate, a black plastic hide, and some moss. In between feedings and misting I put duct tape on the lid and around it for extra security. These guys are escape artists, and an escape is the last thing anyone sane would want. I paid $30 for the millipede, and the setup is worth more than $10 so this is a deal. I would keep this dude, but I’ve realized that centipedes aren’t for me. I don’t feel that it’s ethical to keep them in captivity and would rather pass mine along to someone who wants one than have one more be bought at a store.
