A USAW sanctioned event Saturday, May 21st WELCOME to the 2021 Kilo Open! Brought to you by Kilodelphia Barbell!This Meet is a sanctioned USA Weightlifting meet in East Falls, Philadelphia. This event will be a two day event, running smaller than our usual events. We are excited to run another meet in Philly post COVID and feel our facility is one that will provide you with as much comfort as one while we continue through these times. We had a ton of success in our past two meets with no incidence with cross contamination of COVID. We will be allowing spectators at this event but will be charging an entrance fee. Due to on-going Covid-19 issues, we will be running a lower number of athletes through the day again. We will be caping this event at 70 lifters per day. This event is open all divisions. Medals will be awarded for youth and then by weight category. Junior and masters athletes are of course welcome. Masters will receive medals by equation. IMPORTANT NOTE: Saturday is our open division which means anyone can register for this day but will be entered into senior division weight classes. This means your athlete will be listed as such but please note that this does not change your total registered with USAW - this is based on your age division. Schedule: The final schedule will be posted closer to the event but we will tentatively be running 5 sessions every 2 hours. Saturday: Open Division - medals awarded by senior weight categories Sunday: Masters + Novice + Youth + Junior - medals awarded for junior and youth categories and by weight / age equation for the remainder of each session *Anyone is welcome to lift on either day if they choose based their availability or needs. **We reserve the right to close individual sessions and/ or change times of sessions as we deem necessary to run a successful meet. Venue: * local meet With national competition feel * designated warm up area with no spectator access * low lifter to warm up platform ratio (9+ warm up platforms) * screen in warm up area with session start list to limit coach and athlete separation * electronic light system for judges Covid -19: We will be taking the following steps to insure the highest level of safety we can provide (full directions for the event will be sent out closer to the event. *we are asking not vaccinated people to wear a mask while in the venue except ont he competition platform *Warm-up area will have a platform for each lifter. Sessions will NOT overlap in the warm-up area. There will be a break between each session where we will disinfect the warm-up platforms. Our warm-up room has multiple garage doors to provide adequate air flow to aid in keeping lifters as safe as can be *Each athlete can bring two support persons to the event at no charge. Entrance fee will be collected for spectators to keep numbers low. *There are no refunds for this event so please be sure you can attend before you sign up. Tickets are transferable! Apparel: A weightlifting singlet is required for all lifters (except novice lifters). Novice Lifters can use tight spandex shorts and a tight fitting collarless t-shirt instead of a singlet on SUNDAY.
