Description

PRINCETON – Princeton University reported Saturday that the campus received a bomb threat and an evacuation was underway. The campus said the threat was "not a test" and asked students, faculty and staff to follow the instructions "for your safety." The bomb threat was received for the Art Museum, Firestone Library, Nassau Hall and the Chapel, the university said. The Department of Public Safety has issued an evacuation order for these buildings. Students, faculty and staff were told to collect personal items, including car keys, and to leave their door unlocked and open to allow the area to be inspected. They were also told to go to their building's designated evacuation assembly area. "If you are not currently on campus, avoid traveling to the area. Remain away from the area until an all-clear is issued," the university said. "Unless you have details about this emergency, please avoid using phones on campus unless the matter is urgent, as this may slow or prevent the timely delivery of further information about this emergency." An investigation is underway. Check the Princeton University website at www.princeton.edu for updates.
