The draft plan was approved by a unanimous vote of all advisory committee members in attendance at their April 4th meeting. The map balances the City's population of approximately 1.4 million from the 2020 US Census across 10 council districts by moving council boundaries. The draft plan is a product of numerous, lengthy discussions and consensus building efforts from all 23 advisory committee members over 9 advisory committee meetings, including four map drawing sessions. The largest movement is between the boundaries of districts 1, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. The boundaries of 2, 4, and 10 are likewise impacted and district 3's boundaries remain the same as they are currently.
