Bridgeport Man Charged With Cruelty To Animals: Police

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Bridgeport man was charged with cruelty to animals after emergency responders found two malnourished dogs and the remains of three dogs on a property Monday night, according to police. At about 7:15 p.m., Bridgeport emergency services received a call reporting a fire with heavy black smoke in the 600 block of Wayne St. The caller indicated that it seemed the fire was in the backyard area and possibly a shed. Bridgeport fire responded and reported a shed fire, then requested police to respond as the people at the property were threatening them Police found David Valle of Bridgeport "visibly upset with the presence of fire units and police on the property," according to a police statement. Sherry Yasin of Kissimmee, FL was also at the property and both her and Valle began to interfere with police officers and the fire inspector from gaining access to the rear yard area where the fire was, according to police. While in the backyard area, police said they observed two dogs. One was malnourished, visibly cold, shivering on the rear deck with no water or blankets, and the other dog was in a cagewith feces. Officers and the fire inspector observed the remains of three additional dogs that were deceased. Valle was charged with two counts of cruelty to animals, reckless burning, interfering with an officer, second-degree breach of peace, and second-degree threatening. His bond was set at $20,000. Yasin was charged with interfering with an officer and released on a promise to appear.
