Morning, neighbors! It's me again, Shannon Denney, your host of the New Orleans Daily. First, today's weather: Sunny and breezy. High: 80 Low: 68. Here are the top three stories today in New Orleans: NOPD is currently investigating a deadly shooting that occurred in a parking lot on Tara Lane late Friday night. The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene. (WDSU New Orleans) The City of New Orleans has announced that it has been selected as one of the U.S. communities to be a part of the Communities Local Energy Action program and will receive aid through the U.S. Department Of Energy. The program will help provide green energy sources and long term jobs in the industry for the city of NOLA. (Press Release Desk) A violent Friday across the New Orleans area saw an additional two people injured and two killed from gunfire in Algiers. The first victim was a 63-year-old man who was pronounced dead at the scene after multiple gunshot wounds around 11 am in Algiers. The second Algiers victim was shot around 1 pm about two miles away from the earlier crime. Police have yet to release the age or identity but have stated that the victim is female. The two NOLA shootings occured around noon in St. Roch and the victim was taken to the hospital. The other incident occurred at 8 pm at the intersection of Lamarque and Belleville streets and the victim was also taken to the hospital for treatment. (Instagram) The Regional Transit Authority will suspend ferry service along the Lower Algiers – Chalmette route on Monday, April 11, due to scheduled maintenance. The ferry will not enter service after the last crossing on today. Ferry service will resume once the repairs are complete. (Facebook)UNO's St. Claude Gallery's new exhibit 'Rituals Of Belonging' presented by one of its students opened on Saturday.
