HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Harford County government offices are closed Monday, May 25, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.
Havre de Grace City Hall will also be closed for Memorial Day. It will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday, according to Director of Administration Patrick Sypolt.
Trash and recycling collection will proceed as usual in the city.
Libraries remain closed in Harford County due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Post offices will be closed.
The city will hold a Memorial Day ceremony with the American Legion at 9 a.m. Monday, May 25, at Angel Hill Cemetery, 750 Ohio St., Havre de Grace, MD 21078.
A Memorial Day ceremony will follow at 11 a.m. near the War Memorial at Tydings Park, 908 S. Washington St., Havre de Grace, MD 21078.
Memorial Day originated in the years following the Civil War and became a federal holiday in 1971, to be held the last Monday in May.
