POINT PLEASANT BEACH – Superintendent Will Smith praised Point Pleasant Beach parents for notifying the district when they have health issues now that two COVID-19 cases have been identified. Smith said parents have been doing a good job keeping students home when they are ill just as the district is monitoring two recent cases. A key component of the coordination includes contact tracing, which will identify and notify close contacts of an infected student's most recent day of attendance. The most recent student diagnosed was at the high school was on Oct. 12. Smith told parents the situation is fluid and the district is taking precautions, such as deep cleaning.
