HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — A man was shot and injured during what authorities believe was a burglary attempt in Havre de Grace Friday night, officials reported Saturday.
The 31-year-old had noticed someone outside his home in the 4100 block of Gravel Hill Road before midnight and when he went to investigate, several other suspects appeared and were trying to get inside, according to investigators.
They fired at the door, hitting the man several times, and the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported its deputies were called to a shooting at 11:49 p.m. Deputies gave first aid until medics arrived and took the victim to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center for the treatment of upper body gunshot wounds that are not believed to be life-threatening.
Officials believe the suspects ran toward Earlton Road, but despite assistance from the K9 unit, deputies were unable to find the suspects. One was described as a man in a gray sweatshirt who may have been wearing a black mask. Officials did not provide further descriptions.
Anyone with information about the shooting may call Detective Ross at 443-567-7091.
