Hello. My name is Rob. I had a job I loved. Had everything I needed. One evening riding my motorcycle home, I was stuck by a pickup truck at 45mph. The person did a hit and run. Immediately I went into a coma and had 7 emergency surgeries. Somehow I eventually came out of it. Can’t list how many bones were broken or internal injuries I suffered. I’m now able to be in a wheelchair for a bit. Still have surgeries scheduled. Between the pain and depression alone, it’s a battle to stay alive. I’ve always been a go getter and grateful for everything I had. However, I don’t look at a sunrise or sunset the same anymore, it’s emotional because I’m still on this earth to see a day starting or ending. It is amazing how quickly life can completely change in an instant without warning. I’m currently at a skilled nursing facility after being at Los Robles Hospital in critical condition then Northridge Hospital to recover further to the point were I could go to a skilled nursing facility. Just want to enjoy the time I have left. Reason I’m sharing what’s happened to me is to ask for help. Health insurance doesn’t cover everything. Not specifically asking for money or brand new items. There are some things that would make life here a little better. For example a twin sized bed set (sheets/comforter) that is not being used anymore. Or shampoo/body wash/body lotion/etc not being used. I’m not picky. Even getting out of the facility for a bit would be nice. I’m able to transfer to and from a vehicle. Wheelchair folds so it fits better in a car/suv. Thank you for reading. Really appreciate your time! Hopefully I hear from somebody.
