Candlelight Tour: The Light Still Shines

The Candlelight Tour is a tradition in HdG, with this being the 48th year. The tour of homes, churches and iconic buildings has always drawn crowds. However, this year, the tour has been adjusted for the safety of our patrons. Named "The Light Still Shines," the tour will focus on outdoor entertainment. Tourgoers will travel across 14 stops, including homes, parks and museums, and enjoy music or theater presented on the patios or balconies. Music ranges from Jazz to Rock, from Classics to Barbershop. The entertainers include the Tidewater Players, Suzanne Chadwick, The Conservatory of Music, and even an American Idol contestant! The tour allows tourgoers to social distance at each site, and enjoy the tour safely. Union Ave will be lit by luminaries as in the past. This year, each tourgoer will receive a glowstick candle as well, adding to the beauty of the lights throughout the tour route. The Candlelight Tour is Dec 12, from 4 to 8 PM. Tickets are available at www.thelockhousemuseum.org or www.eventbrite.com at a price of $20 per person. They will be available the day of the event for $25.
