We have a 4-piece mostly-string band that meets weekly in NE Portland or Happy Valley to play traditional Irish and contra dance tunes, mostly from the Portland Collection books. We play mostly at slow-jam speed or even slower, although we have played “up-to-speed” for a few family and school dances. We’re older guys primarily looking for an intermediate fiddler who can free our fiddler up to play other instruments or harmonize.
