POINT PLEASANT– Thee Point Pleasant Boro announced its intentions on Thursday to provide more in-person instruction for students.
Superintendent Vincent Smith said the district's goal is to have more students return for in-person instruction "as long as we can accomplish that in a safe and healthy manner."
"Having students return five full days a week is the ultimate goal and we will continue to work toward that goal," he said.
The plan will bring students back in school for five half days of in-person instruction.
Moving forward, the district intends to phase in students in resource room replacements as well as students in the in-class resource classes and English Language Learnings on a daily basis.
The final phase will be to increase in-person learning for the remaining general education students.
Remote learning will remain as an option.
"Class sizes will increase due to combining of the two cohorts that are now in place, and social distancing will be practices to the greatest extent possible due to the building capacity limits," Smith said. "All students and staff will continue to be required to wear masks."
Here is the phase in schedule:
Oct. 19th: Special Education Resource Students and English Language LearnersOct. 26th: Special Education In Class Resource Students/Speech/504 Students Nov. 9: All General Education Students
