Description
POINT PLEASANT BEACH – Point Pleasant Beach this week will consider establishing zoning changes for selling vaping and CBD products in town after several incidents took place.
The Borough Council will hold a pubic hearing on the rules during its 7:30 p.m. meeting on Tuesday.
The borough is considering adding a subsection to its development zoning regulations regarding the sale of vaping/e-cigarette and CBD products, providing a series of conditions and standards.
The rules will not apply to existing businesses that sell the products.
"We're not looking to get rid of any vape/CBD businesses," Mayor Paul Kanitra said. "We're simply looking to be smarter about the placement and location of future ones."
The borough is taking this steps after several incidents involving stores selling to customers under the age of 21 took place. Read more: Vaping Bust In Point Pleasant Beach: Cops
