I have a wonderful tempered African grey for rehoming. Donnie was 2 years old April 1. His hatch date is 4/1/2020... this bird is EXCELLENT. Anyone can handle him. He is friends with my dogs he literally drinks out of the dogs water bowl while the dog eats 2 inches away. He’s very very socialized. Amazing in all settings. No fear of vacuums or animals or people or loud noises. He is the best bird anyone can hope for. Unfortunately my 5 week old baby is severely allergic to him. I have been trying to keep dander at bay changing cage every day but my house isn’t that big and in the long term I just don’t know how to manage his allergy. He’s so young that he would adapt well to new loving owners and we absolutely adore him.. I’m so upset to consider this but I’ve weighed all the factors and I think he’ll be happier in a home where he can continue to roam free and live how he was living up until a few weeks ago. I’m just completely overwhelmed with 4 children 3 pets and a newborn that scored severe on allergy test to bird dander. (Baby is stuffy and runny nose constantly) I would never give him up had my baby not developed an allergy to him. It’s heartbreaking to rehome a pet that I never had the intention to give up and it’s heartbreaking to see a newborn sneezing and stuffy over a pet that they are allergic to in the house.. overall just sucks so bad! You can dress him, put a leash on him, play with him.. he steps up to anyone... amazing bird I’ve put so much time into him.
