Bass Player w/ Vocals Seeking Rock Band

I am a bass player looking to join a rock band. I prefer mostly covers at this point, but am open to some originals. I know a fair number of songs and can learn almost anything. I am not super into country, though a couple more rocking country songs here and there are OK. Interesting takes on pop could be fun. But, mainly I am interested in rock, hard rock and even metal. I am also a capable singer. I have audio and video samples available. I am reliable and a good teammate. I have a job, gear, transportation - In my early forties and have my life together. Looking for band mates in a similar situation. Able to play out about twice a month, and rehearse most weeks, and I do my homework to know the material. But, also OK just coming out and playing some tunes with some folks and seeing where it goes. Ultimately, I would like to be playing out again in a gigging band, but meeting musicians and playing is part of the fun. I have done a couple of auditions recently that ended up being a little too far away for regular rehearsal. Preferably looking for something in or within half an hour of Lansing. Thanks!
