PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Prince George's County Police have arrested a Lewisdale area man and charged him with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy and taking photos of the incident, according to a police release. Acting on 27 tips from National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force identified Marvin Amaya Diaz, 37, of the 2200 block of University Boulevard, as a possible suspect on Jan. 16. Following an investigation, police located and arrested Diaz on Feb. 20. After executing a search warrant at Diaz's home, investigators found about 1,000 child exploitative images and videos, including photos involving the 14-year-old victim. Diaz had recently met the victim in the Lewisdale area. Police say the sexual assault occurred Jan. 16 in the victim's home. Police have discovered no evidence Diaz had shared images of the victim with others. In addition, police have not charged Diaz in connection with any other sexual assaults, though concern exists that other victims are possible. The other 1,000 or so images and videos the police collected are dated between September 2016 and December 2019. At this point, there is no evidence Diaz produced those images. Police charged Diaz with with one count of second-degree rape, one count of production of child pornography, two counts of distribution of child pornography, 78 counts of possession of child pornography and several additional charges. He is being held without bond at the Department of Corrections. Police ask anyone with information about this case to call detectives at 301-772-4930.
