Description

Cuarentena is the Mexican tradition of "mothering the mother" for the first 40 days postpartum. In this workshop you will learn some rebozo alignment techniques, the full Closing of the Bones ceremony (bath, binding, tea), postpartum food do’s and don'ts, and how to honor and hold space for your client as they process their birthing experience. This class will also cover two types of belly binding; rebozo, faja. You will learn about the history and culture associated with each bind and how correct binding is helpful in postpartum healing. This class will be capped at 8 students. This class with be taught by veteran Doula Sariah Price. As well as being a birth and postpartum doula she is also a childbirth educator and a doula trainer. We are grateful to have her share her culture and traditions with us. This includes breakfast, lunch and dinner, your own corpal, warming salve, traditional herbs and a book of recipes. Sariah will also have back-strap loomed rebozos from Mexico as well as handmade fajas for sale at a discount to workshop participants.
