Dr. Diane Lewis offers alternative ways to care for our lawns and gardens without using synthetic pesticides, weed killers and fertilizers.
A 2013 study released by the United States Geological Survey found that the chemicals we're putting in our yards are now in every stream, river, and lake, and half of our well water—all the sources of our drinking water. What might we do individually to address this?
In this talk, Dr. Diane Lewis, MD describes how the chemicals we put on our yards end up in our drinking water, even bottled water, and why this puts a cloud over our children’s future. She offers alternative ways to care for our lawns and gardens without using synthetic pesticides, weed killers and fertilizers. Dr. Lewis is a nephrologist, a consultant in environmental health, and the founder of the nonprofit, The Great Healthy Yard Project.
This free program is sponsored by The Stamford Garden Club. Doors open/refreshments available at 6:00 PM. Talk begins at 6:30 PM.
