R2 Contractors, Inc. is looking for dedicated mechanic to join our team in Redmond, Oregon. The ideal candidate would be diverse in heavy equipment, heavy trucks, medium and light duty trucks, and small engines. In this position, you will be responsible for but not limited to preventative maintenance inspections, DOT inspections on trucks and trailers, completing given tasks in a timely fashion and work close with the Lead Tech to help grow our team. This position is ideal for a Diesel Tech who wants to grow and further their career. In this position you will report directly to the Service Manager. After 90 days there will be a performance-based raise. *** MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREENING*** Responsibilities: • Complete tasks given by Service Manager or Fleet Manager in a timely fashion and ask for help when needed • Must have own tools • Keep your work area clean and free of garbage, old parts and clutter • Keep the shop clean. Also responsible for cleaning and organizing the service truck • Maintain a tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasks (up to 1 1/2”) • Keep personal and shop tools clean and organized • Keeping track of hours/miles on machines when preforming projects/jobs • Check-in equipment and trucks as they come back to the shop from a job site and report all issues to the Service Manager • Keeping good records of daily work and completing work order paperwork EVERYDAY • Keeping proper records of EVERYTHING that comes through the shop. • Complete DOT inspections • Stay up to date with new technology • Preform welding and fabrication when needed (MiG, arc, solder, braze, cutting torch, plasma cutting and carbon arc) • USE PROPER PPE (PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT)! (grinding, cutting, sanding, welding, using compressed air etc.) Requirements: • Minimum 1-year heavy equipment/heavy truck experience and/or Completion of a certified diesel maintenance training program or 1 year experience in another mechanical field • Class A CDL with clean driving record – Preferred, not required • Upon attaining a Class A CDL, you will receive a $1.50/hr raise • Able to weld and complete fab work • Must be able to read, write and speak English • Must have good communication skills • Must be able to diagnose air brake and air systems, hydraulic, electrical, fuel, systems etc. Physical Demands: • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus • Basic computer skills as demonstrated by knowledge of and ability to use MS Excel and word processing applications • Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner Benefits: • Pacific Source Medical Insurance ($410.32 paid towards employee premium and $1,196.21 towards employee plus family premium) • Dental and Vision paid by the Company • 401k with up to 3% match • Family-owned company in business for more than 10 years • We offer our associates the opportunity to grow personally and professionally • 5 year employment appreciation bonus • Wage depends on experience 1 Year Experience: $25+3 Years Experience: $28+5 year Experience: $30+
