CITT Town Hall: Chasing Supply Chain Sustainability: Balancing Economic Growth, Consumer Demand, and the Environment
The annual CITT Town Hall addresses a topic of key interest to the goods movement community in Southern California. The free-to-the-public forum allows industry, community, and governmental representatives to discuss common concerns and solutions. Past Town Halls have addressed the environment, port efficiency, and the impacts of COVID-19. The event incorporates educational videos, panel discussions and audience interaction; and it concludes with the annual presentation of the Domenick Miretti Award, which recognizes a leader who has contributed to a spirit of cooperation and collaboration among supply chain stakeholders.
Town Hall 2022 Theme:
While the world awaits a clear victory over a global pandemic, the supply chain carries on. Disruptions and delays have been the big story in the news; but the supply chain has been surprisingly resilient in the face of unprecedented consumer demand over the past two years. As the freight system navigates these challenges, it also continues to work toward the sustainability goals set out by the State and called for by local communities. Can we meet the pace of demand and move toward a zero-emission freight system at the same time? When it comes to sustainability, do we all speak the same language? The 2022 Town Hall will tackle the big questions head on.
