What better way to celebrate Earth Day this year than helping us service the local Urbana community with launching their "Peace Garden"?! Growing Community Through Unity Calling all UIUC students! Join Organic Oneness in partnership with Habitat for Humanity for an "Earth Day of Service" on Friday, April 22, 2022, from 3-4:30 pm. Habitat for Humanity has been working for the last 3 years to establish a community garden in the Urbana area. The goal of this project is not only to combat food insecurity by also build community and the spirit of working together amongst the people in this neighborhood, but also allowing them to create a sustainable and organic food source for everyone in the neighborhood. As Organic Oneness, our mission is to co-create with communities to mobilize systemic change, and healing and wellness, foregrounding Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. We hope that you all can be a part of this journey, and this event can be your first step! Not only will we be coming together to help launch the Urbana Community Garden for the spring, but we will also be joy-sharing, doing some beautification projects, and talking about how we can all work together to bring the spirit of service and unity to campus! After the service project, we will be hosting a Unity Meal in appreciation of all of our volunteers and celebrating the power of service. This is free to all volunteers and will take place from 5-6:30 pm. The location is TBA. We hope to see you there!!
