Alyssa Baker, owner of Nomadic Knots will be doing a live leather-working demo at Emerge 10:30 am-2:30 pm. FREE. No registration is needed. Alyssa Baker will be doing a live leather wallet-making demo showcasing tooling, dying, staining, stitching, and hardware setting over a span of four hours on Saturday 4/16 10:30 am - 2:30 pm. You do not need to register for this event. You are welcome to just attend. Observers are welcome to stay for the entire demo or just pop in and stay as long as they are able. The demo is free and open to the public. With twelve years of design knowledge & six years of leather crafting experience, Alyssa Baker creates durable & unique pieces that will last for a lifetime. When acquiring her Bachelors Degree of Fine Art Costume Design in 2014 from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, Alyssa learned to work with many different materials. Leather became the focus of Alyssa's work in 2017 as she found herself managing at Tandy Leather & teaching leatherworking classes. During the 2020 shutdown, Alyssa taught herself macrame and the explosion of design concepts served as the final piece to tie together all these aesthetic concepts & brought about the birth of Nomadic Knots. Now living in the Coeur d' Alene area she loves connecting with the community, other area artists, & the lush surrounding nature. Living in the Pacific Northwest Alyssa is constantly inspired by the surrounding lakes and forests and brings the colors, rugged qualities, and textures to each of her designs. Alyssa has an undying passion for learning, creating, & expanding her art knowledge and these pursuits will forever be her driving force in the world.
