As part of PCHTF’s ongoing work to advance conversations about housing stability, we are pleased to join the Drake University Law School in hosting the film A Decent Home on its Iowa premeiere tour. The film provides a thought-provoking look at how the sale of the ground under mobile home parks can threaten the housing stability of the people living there.
Location informationThe screening will take place in Room 213, Cartwright Hall on the Drake University campus at 27th & Carpenter. Park in Lot 1 off 25th Street between Carpenter and Forest Avenues.

Synopsis from the filmmakersWhen housing that’s on the lowest rung of the American Dream is being devoured by the wealthiest of the wealthy, whose dream are we serving? A Decent Home addresses urgentissues of class and economic (im)mobility through the lives of mobile home park residents who can’t afford housing anywhere else. They are fighting for their dreams --and their lives -- as private equity firms and wealthy investors buy up parks, making sky-high returns on their investments while squeezing every last penny out of the mobile home owners who must pay rent for the land they live on.
