Hike through our redwood forest with the eyes of a naturalist - see all the forms of life that can be found.
SPACE IS LIMITED TO 15 PEOPLE
Behold the Beauty Guided Hike - Biodiversity of the Redwood Forest! This TWC Staff-led hike will begin where the coastal grasslands end and the redwood forest begins. Come walk our forest trails with the eyes of a naturalist.
Did you know that some ferns are evergreen and some are deciduous, just like trees; or that there are over 10 different species of ferns at Jenner Headlands Preserve? Did you know there are scorpions that walk amongst us here in Sonoma County; or that we have one of N. America's largest millipedes?
Participants can expect to hike approximately 4 miles. This moderate hike will include the steep downhill descent of our Logger's Lament Trail, connecting to the more gentle Russian Gulch Trail before it ascends up the Sea To Sky Trail back to our vehicles.
Registered guests will meet at our parking lot on Highway 1. From there we will drive into the Preserve and park at the forest edge, where the hike will begin. Carpooling is requested, to the extent that you're comfortable.
