GLEN BURNIE, MD — Anne Arundel County's tree lighting ceremony in Glen Burnie will be virtual this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. At 6 p.m. when it begins, there will be an observance of 300 seconds of silence in memory of the 300 people who have lost their lives to COVID-19 in Anne Arundel County. The event will be led by Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman, police chief William Lowry, fire chief Trish Wolford and County Council President Allison Pickard.
