PARAMUS, NJ — Veterans and active duty service members can get a round of golf on the house at any of the six Bergen County courses this week, in honor of Veterans Day. This includes Orchard Hills Golf Course in Paramus. The county, according to the release, runs this promotion for veterans and current service members annually. From Wednesday, Nov. 11 through Friday, Nov. 13, any current or former service member who is a resident of Bergen County can play a round for free. According to County Executive Jim Tedesco, it's their way of saying thank you. "While we can never fully repay the men and women who have faithfully served our nation in uniform, it is our responsibility to show them our support and gratitude here at home," said Tedesco. "Offering a free round of golf at one of our six outstanding county courses this week in honor of Veteran's Day is a small gesture of that gratitude. On behalf of the people of Bergen County, thank you to all our active duty and retired service members for the sacrifices they and their families have made to protect the freedoms we all hold dear as Americans." In order to play for free, veterans and active duty service members must be residents of Bergen County, produce identification indicating veteran or military status, and inform cashiers of their participation in the Veterans Day offer prior to sale. Here are the six courses in Bergen County: Darlington Golf Course, 277 Campgaw Rd., Mahwah Orchard Hills Golf Course, 404 Paramus Rd., Paramus Overpeck Golf Course, 273 East Cedar Lane, Teaneck Rockleigh Golf Course, 15 Paris Ave., Rockleigh Soldier Hill Golf Course, 99 Palisade Ave., Emerson Valley Brook Golf Course, 15 River Vale Rd., River Vale
