Dixon Marine Services, Inc. (DMS) is an Oceanographic and Wetland Restoration firm specializing in dredging and wetland restoration. Our headquarters are in Inverness, CA with a yard and satellite office in Antioch, Ca. In the past, our projects have mainly been limited to the West Coast states of California, Oregon, and Washington with occasional projects in Montana and Idaho. We employ both salaried professionals as well as union craft labor for most of our projects and are signatory to Locals 3, 701, 324, and 34. Our construction projects are predominantly Public Works projects for municipalities and federal or state entities. DMS has an immediate opening for a Construction Superintendent to support our current workload as well as help expand our market share in other areas like demolition, structural concrete, pile driving, and more. The successful candidate will apply his/her construction background to primarily manage field operations for projects ranging from $300,000 to $5 million in value. Typically, the candidate can expect to manage up to 20 trade personnel from multiple crafts on a project. The candidate will serve as DMS’ on-site representative and be responsible for accurate and timely communications with project managers, engineers, and project owners. He/She will provide input to estimating and project management staff to develop and implement work, health and safety, environmental protection plans. He/She will also be responsible for assisting project management to develop invoices and deliverables as well as detailed and accurate daily reports. Current OSHA 30 certified candidates go to the front of the line, as do those with SSHO experience. The ideal candidate will have: • Excellent organizational skills • Basic knowledge of union craft labor rules • Clean DMV record • 5-10 years’ experience managing field operations • Excellent communication skills • Strong character and professional references (min 2 each) • Basic understanding of projects involving multiple environmental permits (ACOE, NPDES, BCDC, CWA, etc.) • Ability to work on and near water • Ability to regularly work 40-50hrs per week • Pass a 40-hr Hazwopr course, physical exam, and drug test • Basic computer skills (Excel, Project, Bluebeam, ACAD, etc) Other valuable experience would be: • Marine construction experience • Boating experience or licenses • Concrete construction experience • Demolition experience
