Laura Chenel's Chevre, Inc. is hiring! We are in search of two Cheese Production Workers. Come join our awesome team! Duties and Responsibilities: Produce requested cheese quantities as specified by the daily production plan Ensure that the quality of the product meets or exceeds standards Prepare filter bags for production; clean filter bags in the bag washer, hang bags on filter hooks and place onto filter carts Assist in preparing tanks for curd transfer into filter bags Manually transfer curd from filter bags into the curd mixer; add ingredients to curd as directed on batch sheets Unload curd from mixer and into buggies Weigh and label buggies of curd according to recipe Daily inventory of curd cooler Report any product/quality concerns to management Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and any/all established processes and policies Maintain clean and neat work areas Follow all communicated health, safety, security, and emergency requirements Work in a safe manner and communicate any safety hazard to a supervisor Ensure work is produced in the most sustainable manner Qualifications: Previous experience in a food production/processing facility preferred Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred Basic math to verify product counts Must maintain excellent attendance Work efficiently to minimize product loss Self-motivated Ability to maintain paperwork flow for multiple stages of cheesemaking process Ability to calmly respond to equipment or other problems and find solutions Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment Ability to perform with a high level of professionalism Strong listening skills and a strong attention to detail Scheduling flexibility – must be able to work different shifts when required and to weekends if needed PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Extended periods of standing, squatting, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending, and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, hands, and fingers. – Repetitive at times. Push and pull buggies and carts of curd up to 400 lbs. Ability to see, smell and taste to evaluate and make sound decisions on product quality and production processes Ability to work safely in variable temperature Ability to withstand noise produced by manufacturing machinery Ability to lift, hold and/or carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted WHO ARE WE: Laura Chenel Chenel is a subsidiary of the family-owned French dairy Rians, is responsible for marketing and selling the following brands: Laura Chenel, Marin French Cheese and St. Benoit Creamery.
