Learn to create your own stencil for screen printing then screen print on the material of your choice Learn to use the Ikonart Stencil Maker to create a custom screenprint. You could print a special recipe on a tea towels, your softball team's logo on a t-shirt or an inspirational quote on a plaque to hang in your home. The screen print process is so versatile - we'll explore many possibilities together. In this two session class, you'll create your own stencil for screen printing in the first class then use it to print on the material of your choice. Dates: This class will meet on two successive Mondays. The first session (stencil making) is on May 16 from 7-9pm, the second session (printing) is on May 23 from 7-8pm. Cost: $10 to reserve your place in this class. Remarkably, the remainder of the fee is covered by a grant. Materials: Students will bring material to print on to the second class. Instructor will advise students on what to bring based on their projects. Age: 12 to adult Notes: Be prepared to get messy! Never wear anything to the makerspace that can't get dirty. Teacher info: Cat Stricklan is the Youth Services Librarian in Northfield and is a life-long maker. They love learning new art forms and are excited to share the Ikonart stencil maker with a wider audience.
