TAMPA, FL — A Florida Department of Transportation road ranger was lucky to suffer only minor injuries Friday when he was struck by a Nissan Titan pickup truck on Interstate 275.
At 4:24 p.m., the 34-year-old FDOT road ranger from Tampa was placing cones and amber warning lights around an unrelated accident scene on I-275 when a 35-year-old Brooklyn, New York, man driving the Nissan Titan lost control on the wet pavement.
The Titan collided with a barrier wall and then was redirected into the road ranger's Chevy pickup truck that was parked on the shoulder.
The New York man was uninjured.
