NEW YORK CITY — A Drill rap-linked Bronx gang took a hit after Bronx prosecutors indicted 20 members on accusations of murder, gun violence and stabbings. G-Side/Drilly gang members "terrorized" Fordham/Bedford Park residents for years, said Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark on Thursday. "These defendants allegedly engaged in dozens of acts of violence, including murder and attempted murder, over the last three years, with the most recent just a few weeks ago," Clark said in a statement. "The defendants allegedly committed multiple shootings, some in broad daylight, killing two people and injuring innocent bystanders." A sweeping 82-count indictment details a long trail of Bronx violence, some of which gang members boasted about in Drill rap video posted on YouTube, authorities said. The "Drill rap scene" has come under fire, with officials such as Mayor Eric Adams accusing it of fueling violence across the city. Prosecutors claimed many G-Side/Drilly gang members are prominent in the scene. Two murders are linked to gang members in the indictment, prosecutors said. One was the July 2020 death of James Rivera, 24, who was chased by six gang members — including two who were teens at the time — before being fatally shot in the back, prosecutors said.
